Two patients hospitalized with flu A in Oporto “at risk of life”

Hsjoao 300x201 Two patients hospitalized with flu A in Oporto at risk of lifeThe two patients infected with flu A (H1N1) at the Hospital de São João, in Oporto, “are at risk of life,” says Secretary of State for Health, Manuel Pizarro. The governor stressed that the two patients are “stable” but with “clinical prognosis booked” and therefore “at risk of life.” 

The worsening of the clinical status of two patients with flu A was released today, at dawn, by the Ministry of Health. “The situation is stable in relation to that information disseminated” in the early hours of today, “although it is in fact two patients who have reserved prognosis”, insisted Manuel Pizarro. 

The Secretary of State confirmed that patients are a man – “have a certain age” with “a chronic disease that is uncompensated by flu infection – and a woman -” that is a case of pneumonia, with respiratory failure. “
