Description:The events of ‘The Boys Presents: Varsity’ will occur simultaneously with those of Season 3 of ‘The Boys.
Season 3 of Prime Video’s original series The Boys was absolutely diabolical, but now that it’s gone, attention can turn to what comes next. A lot more is required to satisfy the fans.
Eric Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, recently gave an interview to Deadline in which he teased fans with details about the spinoff series The Boys Presents: Varsity. Kripke claims that alumni of The Boys’ Universe will make cameo appearances in the upcoming campus-set spinoff.
Prime Video ordered the series back in 2021, and Collider covered the announcement, noting that Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters were attached as showrunners.
They joked that Varsity would be “part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.” The events of Season 3 of The Boys will serve as a backdrop for the spinoff, which will take place at the Vought-run Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, the only exclusively supe-admitted school in the United States.
Since the events of Varsity take place after the events of Season 3 of The Boys, neither Translucent (Alex Hassell) nor Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore) will make any cameo appearances in the series, despite their appearance as commemorated alums statues on the college’s lawn in the promotional images from CBR.
However, other alumni are not out of the question, like A-Jessie Train’s T. Usher and The Deep’s Chace Crawford.
