Samana Megayacht Is Understated Elegance

Must Read

Description:

The Samana Megayacht Is the Epitome of Discreet Elegance

Short News:
Samana is the design studio’s newest study and a suitable follow-up to last year’s 240-foot Palmilla.

Palmilla was intended for a well-heeled seafarer who wished to escape the world’s crises.

Sub:
“5,250-hp Palmilla engines achieve 21 mph/33 kph (18 knots).”

Because each of Palmilla’s MTU 16V 4000 engines produces 5,250 horsepower, the vessel can reach a peak speed of 18 knots.

It would include top-of-the-line facilities, a master suite and main deck built as a “citadel of seclusion,” and an exquisite, timeless style.

Samana can trump Palmilla, if only on paper. It’s larger, quicker, and more luxurious than its predecessor, yet it’s still sleek and elegant.

The design company told Superyacht Times that the aim was to be inventive without seeming try-hard. For example, bigger doesn’t equal flashier.

Samana’s “halo” begins midship and extends to the beach club, where guests may enter the ship.

Angled supports on the aluminum superstructure continue to the sky deck, producing the sense of continuous sweeping lines and diverting from the ship’s powerful bow.

Samana is 314 feet (96 meters) long and has a 50-foot beam, giving it considerable internal space for private use and charter.

Fourteen passengers (7 staterooms) and 31 crew in 18 cabins. Like Palmilla, crew cabins are near the beach club aft on the lower deck. The suite includes a patio, lobby, closet, and bathroom.

Two bow Jacuzzis, a dive room, a piano room, a TV room (similar to a mini-cinema), and a whole beach club with a swim-up bar and sofas. There’s also a gym and spa up on the sky deck.

Renders suggest the helipad can fit an Airbus ACH 160, with twin tender garages beneath. However, even aboard megayachts, concessions are necessary.

Samana is a good swimmer despite its size. Twin MTU 20V 4000 M73L engines give a peak speed of 20 knots (23 mph/37 kph). 8,000 nautical miles (9,206 miles / 11,816 km) at 14 knots (16 mph / 26 kph).
